About the department
CPP is part of CMC API Pilots and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control) Development & Scaling that manufactures and controls new drug substance candidates for the development portfolio at Novo Nordisk.
The department consists of two fermentation lines/teams and two recovery lines/teams: Recovery 1 and Recovery 2. Also, we have a support team that support across the department with cleaning activities, validation activities, training, cLEAN, quality etc. The 5 Managers in the department work closely together and are empowered to take independent decisions and act when needed. In the department we foster an open, honest and appreciative mindset that frames the work conditions and culture.
In CPP we work with various technologies and equipment depending on whether the cultivation is based on yeast or E-coli and on how the recovery process is designed (i.e. centrifugation, filtration, homogenization, chromatography etc.). The design is done by our colleagues in CMC, Development and post phase 3 CPP is involved in the process transfer to the part of Product Supply that produce for market. Thus, CMC API Pilots is the link between Development and established market production.
