Lead or Senior Wind Energy Analyst

Ørsted

Join us in this role where you’ll be acting as a trusted advisor to our internal customers, with focus on assessing and optimising the value of future offshore wind farm projects. You’ll be performing comprehensive energy yield calculations, exploring future scenarios, and assessing potential impacts on our pipeline of projects. You’ll be working alongside dedicated colleagues in the fields of energy yield analysis, GIS, measurements, and commercial engineering, all aiming to deliver 360° views of the projects and markets.

Welcome to Engineering and Construction
You’ll be part of Early Phase Assessment & Design where you, together with your colleagues, will analyse future potential wind farms and optimising with a holistic mindset. You’ll be acting as a trusted advisor to your colleagues in business development and our global regions. It’s essential to understand how a potential project or region will fit and support Ørsted's future growth ambitions. You’ll do all this in collaboration with your team, the projects, and various stakeholders across our value chain. As a team, we value bright colleagues who are not only capable of working independently but also thrive as part of our energetic team that’s always striving for excellence.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • assessing wind resources and designing layouts for utility-scale, offshore wind farms
  • performing in-depth analyses of wind and production data, incl. assessment of losses and uncertainties
  • driving continuous improvement through R&D and tool development
  • acting as a trusted advisor for the projects and the organisation on wind farm production, ensuring attention to key elements in yield assessments of new projects and market opportunities
  • identifying the relevant scenarios for projects, based on the market and the competitive landscape
  • delivering holistic optimisation of projects in the early phase assessment.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have strong experience in wind resource and energy yield assessment and preferably have an engineering or modelling background
  • are curios to explore new areas and improve existing methods
  • are proficient in Matlab or another high-level technical computing language, such as Python or C++
  • have a commercially focused mindset, understanding how yield optimisations are linked to business cases and market dynamics
  • speak English fluently and have efficient communication and professional presentation skills.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
