You will join a young and talented finance business partnering team. Your role will be to provide key support for the Shortsea management team, working closely with the COO and senior executives. You will play a central role in analyzing the financial performance of Shortsea and driving subsequent actions for improvement.

The position is onsite at our HQ in Aarhus, Denmark. Travel will occur, especially in the beginning during onboarding (est. 10-20 days per year). We are seeking candidates who are already based in Denmark.

Your areas of responsibility
As our new Finance Business Partner, you will liaise with the Shortsea organization and independently drive tasks and initiatives.
You will collaborate with the Shortsea team to analyze performance, evaluate business direction, and provide data-driven recommendations for performance improvement initiatives, as well as opportunity and risk assessments across all aspects of Shortsea.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the development and refinement of strategies across the business by providing robust financial analysis, scenario evaluations, and actionable insights on budgets, plans, targets, and key business drivers.
  • Taking ownership of delivering input for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes for Shortsea, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and timely delivery of all supporting information.
  • Leading the development, review, and delivery of monthly management reporting, KPI reporting, and other financial and performance metrics to provide a clear picture of Shortsea’s financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Providing analysis and support to enable colleagues to make timely, well-informed, and data-backed decisions.
  • Maintaining, controlling, and optimizing the flow of accurate financial and performance-related communication with all stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.

Who are you?
The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in economics and business administration (Cand.merc.), or a related field, combined with 2-4 years of experience in a finance role. Ideally, you also have experience in a business partnering capacity.

We expect that you are curious and motivated to work with numbers, data, and analytics, and are eager to apply your theoretical knowledge in a market-leading global business within the fast-paced shipping and logistics industry.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels.
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written) at a professional level. Speaking Danish is a plus but not a requirement.
