At Nine United, we develop businesses, brands, supply chains and distribution with a focus on furniture, lighting and homeware for commercial and residential use. Our offices in Asia and Europe are an important link between the design and retail branding companies in the Nine United family and their suppliers, but also in relation to new distribution possibilities.
Founded in 2005, our Asian companies focus on purchasing and supplying different items, as furniture, accessories and lighting for bigger European design companies as well as private label products for bigger furniture chains. We are also involved in sourcing products within retail and branding.
At Nine United, we are constantly evolving and looking for ways to enhance our business. Currently, we are looking for a Country Manager to join our team in Vietnam and build up our supply chain within furniture and accessories. THE ROLE
As Country Manager for Nine United in Vietnam, you will be part of a small team in an independent cross-functional department working very closely with our colleagues in China. Your workplace will be Ho Chi Minh.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing sourcing strategies and plans to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of furniture and home accessories.
- Identifying potential suppliers and establishing strong working relationships with them to maintain consistent quality and reliability of products.
- Negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize value and minimize risks.
- Monitoring market trends, supplier performance and industry developments to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
- Building a team of sourcing and quality professionals and overseeing their daily activities including recruitment, training and development.
- Participating in the negotiations of strategic agreement with key accounts and the responsibility for close cooperation with our family-owned brands and partners
- Collaborating with cross functional teams such as sales, marketing, and logistics to ensure seamless integration of sourcing processes with overall business objectives.
- Tracking and reporting on key performance metrics such as supplier performance, cost savings, and inventory levels to support data driven decision making.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are characterized by having a thorough knowledge of industry standards as well as a high level of technical ability and commercial skills. You have a strong sense of business development and have shown strong leadership as well as analytical and organizational skills. You work well independently and within in a team, managing and prioritizing multiple activities with attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
You have excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills and interact professionally with a culturally and linguistically diverse staff, stakeholders, suppliers and clients. You possess English language skills at negotiation level.
As our new colleague, you contribute with a good sense of humor and a positive attitude and understand the importance of an open and informal work environment.
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or above and a minimum of 10 years’ supply chain management experience in furniture industry.
