AAU Energy has a highly international environment and covers all areas of clean and sustainable energy systems of the future within electrical, thermal, and mechatronic energy technology. AAU Energy has campuses in both Aalborg and Esbjerg, and this position is located in Esbjerg.
The mission of AAU Energy is to be world-leading in both research and research-based education of the energy engineers of the future. AAU Energy has approximately 300 employees of diverse nationalities, of which 25 are administrative staff. Additionally, AAU Energy hosts around 50-70 guest researchers from across the world. The department is recognized globally for excellence in energy research and education, with extensive industry collaborations and cutting-edge laboratory facilities supporting its research and innovation activities.
The position is offered in relation to the research group"Offshore Renewable Energy Systems," and the Postdoc will be positioned within the"Esbjerg Energy Section."
Research Focus
The selected candidate will advance research in power electronics for port electrification and flexibility, with a particular focus on:
- Power electronic converters for shore-side power supply and port energy infrastructure.
- High-efficiency conversion systems for port electrification and hybrid energy hubs.
- Control and optimization of power electronics for flexible port energy systems.
- Modeling, simulation, and experimental validation of port power conversion and electrification solutions.
- Integration of port electrification with energy storage, Power-to-X(PtX) solutions, and grid-supportive services.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field, and demonstrate expertise in some of the following areas:
- Proven research experience in modeling and control of power electronic converters, and grid
integration. - Experience with hardware development and experimental testing of power electronic converters.
- Knowledge of shore power systems and grid integration challenges.
- A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact international journals.
- Strong English communication skills.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.

Assessment
The assessment of candidates for the position will be carried out by qualified experts.

When the hiring process is completed, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.

Løn og ansættelsesvilkår

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the state(AC collective agreement)(only in Danish) and circular concerning protocol on certain terms of employment of academic staff at universities(only in Danish).
