About the Team
Our Histopathology department is a dynamic group consisting of you, 7 laboratory technicians, and 2 academics. We support vital projects with tissue sections, tests, and evaluations of IHC slides. As a key member of this team, you'll be responsible for selecting tissue for use in projects, which includes tasks like sectioning tissue, staining on Coverstainer, Autostainer, or Omnis, and evaluating stained slides under a microscope to select samples for project enrollment.
You will be part of a team with a positive attitude and excellent collaboration skills. Regular check-ins with the manager will provide support for daily tasks and ensure continuous focus on professional and personal development.
The work will be varied and independent. You will have different key stakeholders, and it is important to be approachable and service minded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Microscopy/ IHC evaluation: Conduct evaluation of stained tissue sections using microscopy to select samples for project inclusion.
- Tissue Section Preparation: Prepare tissue sections approximately 1 day per week.
- Testing: Perform testing on Dako Omnis, Autostainer, or Coverstainer.
- Project Support: Provide project support, including review of documents, test overview and documentation.
Qualifications
- Background as a bio analyst or laboratory technician.
- Experience with microscopy and histology.
- Experience in cutting tissue sections is advantageous but not mandatory.
- High standards for quality and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Positive attitude and good humor, thriving in a dynamic and busy environment.
