The Job
We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer for our new branch office planned in Henderson, WA. With a focus on marine and renewable energy applications the Application Engineer is responsible for providing supporting services such as system design, implementation and commissioning of DEIF controlled energy solutions to our customers throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. The role also has a key role to play in pre-sales support and customer liaison to successfully negotiate project specifications and expectations.

You will primarily work with microgrid, generator control and protection for bespoke land and marine applications.

This position may require regular intrastate/interstate travel (5-10 days per month approx) and may require occasional overseas travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Frontline customer support that resolves technical issues for all DEIF products
• Development of bespoke customer applications
• Provide high level single line diagrams
• Support customer commissioning in field & remote
• Maintain and update product knowledge of all DEIF products.

The person
We are looking for someone that is customer focused and results driven. You will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, a commitment to sharing information and passing on expertise, and ability to work harmoniously as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong capacity to recognise and define issues clearly, being able to identify the cause of problems and to make decisions about potential solutions based on ‘best fit’ for the customer and business.

Requirements

• University degree in electrical engineering, or 2-3+ years in related field experience
• Knowledge of PLC or Microprocessor based controls, software and logic
  • Ability to read/program ANSI C software will be an advantage
• Knowledge of microgrids, power generation control as well as protection of power distribution systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
• Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
• Experience in fault finding and servicing genset controllers would be a plus.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Current Australian driver’s license
• Right to work in Australia
