Data engineer (senior) - Nykredit

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, Poland and you will join the Data Foundation team which is a foundation for success of the data enablement at Nykredit.

There are currently 11 members of the team who work in roles of Data Engineers. The team is based in Warsaw, Poland and closely collaborates with Data Analysts from Denmark (Copenhagen, Aalborg) and various other Data Teams working directly for specific business areas.

The team is engaged in various engineering initiatives within the three business areas - Banking, Property Finance and Group Functions with impact to hundreds of data solutions. On top of that the team executes the data platform migration program which gradually moves solutions from the legacy on- premises Oracle & Informatica platform into the new cloud data platform based on Azure cloud. The target state of our transformation is Databricks on Azure.

At Nykredit, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month.

Primary tasks and responsibilities include:

• Participating in migration projects as an ETL Developer/ Data Engineer
• Design and implementation of data transformation
• Optimizing data pipelines
• Close collaboration with Data Analysts
• Other tasks connected with the role.

To succeed you will have:

• 4+ years of experience in a Data Engineer/ETL Developer role.
• Experience with the Microsoft Azure environment.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Competence in Python/PySpark.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Engineering concepts, such as data integration, ETL/ELT processes, Star Schema/Snowflake, Kimball modeling, Data Vault 2.0.
• Skills and experience in performance tuning.
• A genuine passion for design and implementation of Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI solutions to solve business challenges.
• Strong ability and eagerness to learn rapidly and apply new knowledge effectively.
• A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

It’s nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Informatica, Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and Git for version control and continuous integration.
