Sales Engineer – Marine Instruments (blind recruitment)
DEIF A/S
Are you technically skilled in electronics and passionate about sales and delivering exceptional customer experiences? Do you enjoy being the go-to expert who bridges the gap between technical insight and customer needs? At DEIF, we’re expanding our Marine Instruments team – and we’re looking for a passionate Sales Engineer.
At DEIF, we believe that skills, motivation, and mindset matter more than personal details. That’s why we use blind recruitment for this position. If this role excites you, all you need to do is answer four job-specific questions – no CV, no cover letter, and no personal information (such as name, age, gender, or background). Just your insights and experience.
We’re committed to a fair and unbiased recruitment process where everyone has an equal opportunity to shine.
About the job
As our new Sales Engineer, you’ll play a key role in our sales team to support the team and customers with technical knowledge – both before and after the sales. You’ll help define the right solutions, provide hands-on support, and ensure that our customers get the most out of our products.
“You’ll be the technical person in our sales team – supporting both customers and colleagues before and after the sale. While your teammates are commercially focused, you’ll bring the technical depth that ensures we deliver the right solutions and customer value”, says Head of Sales & Product Management, Thorkil Kusk.
Working tasks & responsibilities
- Provide technical support and sparring to the sales team regarding products and solutions
- Assist in defining customer solutions and optimal product usage
- Support customers via phone, email, and online channels
- Troubleshooting and training when needed
- Participate in customer meetings, exhibitions, and seminars
- Gather and share product feedback with sales and product management
- Business travels – 40 to 60 days a year.
The primary work location is our headquarters in Skive, with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
What you’ll bring
You’re a proactive and service-minded team player who thrives in a dynamic environment. You’re structured, communicative, and eager to make things happen – and you enjoy working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders. In addition, you have:
- A technical education / background in electronics, preferably in marine
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
- A hands-on approach and a strong sense of customer service
- A strong presence that consistently fosters engagement and adapts to the dynamics of diverse environments
How to apply
Please answer the following four questions. Your responses should reflect your experience, approach, and problem-solving mindset. Do not include any personal information (name, gender, age, nationality, etc.)
- Describe how you would work to build and maintain customer relationships. What would you do to understand the customer’s needs? And how would you ensure that our customers experience value in the collaboration?
- Describe a time when you had to handle a challenge where it was impossible to satisfy all parties involved. How did you manage the situation, and what was the outcome?
- Which area of electronics do you feel most confident in technically, and what part of the field excites you the most?
- How do you show customers that you are genuinely focused on solving their challenges, rather than just making a sale?
At DEIF A/S, you’ll be part of a highly professional and supportive work environment. Guided by our core values of Ambition, Perspective, and Respect, we cultivate a culture where trust, accountability, and innovation thrive. We believe in investing in our people and encouraging strong collaboration across our global organisation.
In addition to a role filled with exciting challenges, we offer you:
- The opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in state-of-the-art facilities
- On-the-job training and knowledge sharing with skilled employees
- In-house canteen and physiotherapist at our headquarters
- Recreational social events, and much more supporting your wellbeing.
- An energized working environment in a dedicated team with high team spirit
