Core Responsibilities

  • Drive fire safety and protection projects in close collaboration with colleagues at LEGO factories worldwide.
  • Support the design, installation, and commissioning of fire protection systems for factory constructions and expansions, with a current focus on the new standard factory concept.
  • Provide expert knowledge and project support on fire safety to all global manufacturing sites.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional projects and maintain strong collaboration with suppliers, authorities, insurance partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct fire and risk assessments for new technologies, processes, and solutions implemented in LEGO Group’s projects and daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal facility standards, policies, and risk management guidelines.
  • Develop and deliver training to colleagues on fire safety and risk-related topics.
  • Participate in annual risk inspections together with LEGO Group Risk Management, insurance brokers, and insurance companies.
  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans in cooperation with Operations, Risk Management, and Facility Management teams.

  • The Engineering Design & Sustainability team is part of Global Workplace Projects and is responsible for large-scale construction projects and utility-related initiatives worldwide. We own the technical disciplines including supply concepts, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), building management systems, and fire safety. Our mission is to develop, maintain, and continuously innovate global LEGO standards and apply them consistently across all projects.
  • The team consists of more than 30 highly skilled professionals (mostly engineers) with diverse functional expertise and experience. We support both ongoing operations and new projects at all LEGO sites globally.
  • As Global Fire Safety Manager, you will ensure that best-practice fire protection solutions are implemented — in full alignment with the LEGO Group’s promises, values, and growth ambitions, helping us deliver fantastic play experiences to even more children around the world.

Do You Have What It Takes?
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience (both theoretical and practical) in several of the following areas:
  • In-depth knowledge of Factory Mutual (FM) Datasheets, NFPA standards, and local building codes.
  • Design review of automatic fire sprinklers, fire detection/alarm systems, and smoke control/exhaust systems.
  • Collaboration with engineers from other disciplines to recommend cost-effective, high-performance fire protection solutions.
  • Development of fire protection strategies for production facilities, high-piled storage/warehousing, and office environments.
  • Performance of business interruption and risk exposure analyses.
  • Proven experience in construction projects (design through execution phases).
  • Preferably experience working in a global, multicultural organization.

  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues — even outside your immediate field of expertise — and propose clear, actionable solutions.
  • Excellent report-writing skills; able to produce high-quality written documentation for distribution across the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; quickly builds trust and effective networks with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Analytical, structured, and tactical mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (both written and spoken – C1 level or equivalent).
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20–40 days per year.
  • Location: Billund, Denmark (with global responsibility).
