What you will be responsible for:
- Designing enterprise-wide architecture across key disciplines — including business, application, and information architecture — and spanning multiple domains and capabilities. Your focus will be on the Commercial domain related outcomes, with dependencies across enterprise in mind.
- Operating primarily at the business application level, with a strong focus on enabling business outcomes rather than deep technical development.
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders to translate strategic goals into actionable architectural roadmaps.
- Develop a line-of-sight linkage between strategic business outcomes, future state business capabilities, data, business processes, projects, products, and technologies the organization invests in to ensure value and ROI in the Product Line.
- Provide thought leadership on technology trends and disruptions and their potential application to business priorities. Actively engage with technology providers to explore innovative solutions and evaluate their alignment with business goals
- Driving architectural governance, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Coach and mentor product teams and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking.
- Support Head of Product line in identifying and addressing technology risks and debt.
You will be a part of Marine and E&I Product Line, which covers Commercial domain, and you will work closely with the Head of Enterprise Architecture, as a unified team to guide Hempel's digital transformation. Your focus will be on delivering value by shaping strategies, roadmaps, and solutions that directly address the challenges and opportunities of our business. Rather than concentrating on governance, your role will prioritize alignment between the business outcomes and the technology direction, fostering collaboration to deliver value for the business.
Have You Got What We’re Looking For?
We need someone adaptable, collaborative, and a person that can bring a team together and shape the designs and secure that all are on the same page to enable designs to be brought to live during implementations. Our new colleague should be skilled in communication, able to tailor messages, simplify ideas, and move between strategy and operations. You should be comfortable navigating across abstraction layers and explaining end-to-end concepts with clarity and confidence.
Specific capabilities:
- 7+ years of experience building and designing architectures at both strategic and practical levels. Proven track record in large and complex global companies.
- Experience in a similar role in the Commercial domain. Specifically experience in architecture solutions across Pricing and Revenue Management, Product Management, Quote to Contract and eCommerce capabilities
- Exposure to multiple industries, business domains, digital platforms, and solutions is an advantage.
- Demonstrated success in partnering with business leaders to co-create technology strategies & roadmaps in global organization
- Awareness and interest in existing, new and emerging technologies. Ability to assess the value and risk of technologies against new business designs and business
- Proven ability to engage and influence others and be a strong stakeholder manager with the ability to work vertically i.e. from C level to technician and horizontally i.e. across many different disciplines and business areas
- Ability to explain complex IT concepts in business-friendly terms
- Effective in operating in project-centric and product-centric model
- Excellent communication skills — fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Recognized certifications and a solid foundation in IT and enterprise architecture principles. A strong educational background combined with relevant industry, product, or functional experience.
