Research assistant to Section of Orthodontics

The Department of Dentistry and Oral Health at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a research assistant to Orthodontics as per 1 February 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a fixed-term part-time position for 6 months. The specific number of hours per week and period will be agreed upon in more detail, so it can be adjusted to other employment, if any. However, minimum hours per week will be 7,4 hours. The expected workload is approximately 100 to 150 hours in total.

As research assistant at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, you will be employed at an internationally recognised department, where we conduct research on oral health and disease in the teeth, mouth and jaws. We offer an inspiring international research environment with specialised research laboratories, modern clinical facilities and advanced digital equipment throughout the department. Our degree programmes cover the orofacial team for societal healthcare services, divided into three professions: dentist, dental hygienist, and clinical dental technician. We create synergy between our degree programmes and educate students in prevention and treatment of disease and health promotion among the population. The Department has around 300 staff and 700 students. The focus of both our research and educational work is orofacial health as an integral part of general health, and our collaboration is built on respect, trust, recognition and professionalism. Your job responsibilities
As research assistant, your primary tasks are to aid data annotation for a large research project related to artificial intelligence in orthodontics. You contribute to the development of the department through research of high international quality. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Administrative tasks related to a specific research project
  • Data annotation for a specific AI research projects

You will report to the Head of Section, Peter Bangsgaard Stoustrup.

Your competences
You have a background within dentistry and experience with orthodontics. You do not need to have experience within artificial intelligence.

As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.

We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.

  • Appointment as a research assistant requires academic qualifications at master's degree level.

  • Remuneration is in accordance with the above, and the Salary agreement catalogue for staff at Health.
