Test Engineer – start your career developing an exciting new product
Combining our vast knowledge within both Healthcare and Defence, we are now on a journey to develop a new product. Do you want to be part of the team?
Help shape quality from day one
Our new product Battlefield Health, part of the Healthcare business unit, combines proven healthcare and C4ISR solutions into a unified defence medical information system. Drawing on over 30 years of defence and healthcare expertise, Battlefield Health provides critical decision support for healthcare professionals.
The SitaWare Battlefield Health platform offers a comprehensive multinational set-up to manage patient tracking and flow from incident to repatriation, delivering a common operational picture and meeting defence healthcare requirements.
You will become part of a great team distributed between Aarhus and Bucharest that comprises 7–10 people: Developers, Tester(s), an Architect, a Domain Advisor and a Project Manager.
You will collaborate closely with your teammates and learn from experienced colleagues who are passionate about building reliable, user-friendly solutions.
The job
As a Test Engineer, you will be a part of a development team using scrum in its daily work.
You will be working with early testing during feature development – and in close collaboration with the team. You will be assigned to a development team with colleagues located both in Romania and Denmark. Cross-location teams will perform the daily scrum meetings online.
As a Tester in Battlefield Health, you will collaborate closely with all team members including other Test Engineers. There is a high degree of focus on knowledge sharing and development between Testers and Developers.
As an organisation, there is a general awareness regarding software quality, and assigning the right amount of test effort to achieve the quality goals. As a Tester, you are also responsible for the backlog refinement of defects, testing fixed defects and executing system tests, all with an inspect-and-adapt mindset with the aim of harvesting learnings as we proceed. Due to the criticality of the software we deliver, the end goal is that we deliver software of the highest standard.
Your job will consist of the following:
- Feature development and early test: You will play a crucial role in developing new features from requirements through development and the final system test (FST) before release of features to our customer.
- Planning the complete testing process: You will be involved in planning the complete testing process for the team’s commitment and ensuring that the entire team understands both the process and the overall plan.
- Early test: Will be working with early test, which involves tasks relating to early test design and strategy on how to test the features, risk assessments, test environment needs and understanding the requirements.
- You will be involved in performing system tests of both major releases with test runs, as well as system tests for engineering drops.
- You will also conduct tests for new features and defect corrections according to the test strategy that you have prepared for the features. We also execute automated testing as planned in the test strategy.
- Maintaining testware and processes: Build and maintain a regression test suite, test data and test documentation management. Continuously improve the test process.
Your profile
We envisage that you are newly graduated with an IT-related bachelor’s or master’s degree, and that you are ready to take your first step into a meaningful career within software testing.
To succeed in the role, you should recognise yourself in the following:
- Take responsibility for your work and are proactive and self-driven in your approach.
- Have great communication skills as we cooperate across countries and online.
- Thrive in an international environment and are fluent in English.
- Actively advise and collaborate with team members, ensuring a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Actively work with the team and project on achieving the desired quality.
- Take the initiative and contribute to the success of the product.
- Good at finalising not only your own work, but also that of the team.
- Able to speak up and ensure quality, both in the team, but also in relation to features and processes going across teams.
- Take part in leading the way in which we incorporate quality into our product and in processes in our team.
Please note that you must be able to present a clean criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects. Read more here.
