I took my research master's degree in physics at the University of Auckland. I worked in the field of optical physics. I theoretically investigated the formation dynamics of ultrashort pulses in saturable absorber fiber lasers by creating and running simulations in MATLAB. One script was based on the Hauss Master Equation while a second used the nonlinear Schrödinger equation as well as individual transfer functions for each laser section.

During my engineering degree I specialized in structural engineering with courses in the statics and mechanics of structures as well as material properties and the geo- and hydrotechnical aspects of erecting a structure. I further focused on project management taking courses in organization, management, design and execution of structures and infrastructure projects. My final thesis experimentally investigated the correlation between windflow and snowdrift by creating snow distributions around models of different scales using wind tunnel testing and analyzing these using the 3D modelling program Remake.

I took my Bachelor's degree at the University of Copenhagen. During my degree I focused on mathematics and theoretical physics taking Bachelor’s and Master’s courses at both the institute for mathematics and the institute for physics. Additionally I specialized in Astrophysics writing my final thesis on the magnetorotational instability of accretion disks where approximating the disk as a fluid allowed for theoretical investigations of the occurring waves and instabilities through the use of hydromechanics.
