Part time Sponsor Relations officer at Barnfonden (ChildFund Sweden). Administration and customer service.

I was offered to independently lead Barnfonden’s new face-to-face campaign. I managed the work, employed new candidates, motivated and inspired them on how to recruit new sponsors. My leadership and marketing skills increased and it gave me further insight in fundraising.

I was a supply teacher in different primary schools; especially music, languages and mathematics. I developed pedagogic and social skills, and worked on my ability to adapt to new situations quickly as it often required patience and ability to improvise. I was also mentor for some of the children, which furthered my understanding of social work and the importance of establishing a safe atmosphere at school. I got a deeper understanding of intercultural dialogue and working with children with learning difficulties.

I helped to create new projects, write applications, monitor and evaluate. I was part of a network with other child right’s NGOs where we planned interventions for advocacy on a national and international level. I was also often asked to assist with other duties, such as prepare and compile documents at the annual CEO conference. This enhanced my professional work experience in project design, advocacy and NGO management.

I met with a university student two times per week to work with study skills and revision. I helped to see opportunities and boost confidence. I used my social skills when finding new ways to look at problems, and gave advice on how we could structure the study hours.

I taught English to youths, worked with children with special needs and institutionalised children. Most work concerned children’s health and rights and I gained deeper knowledge in how public health issues are managed in low/middle-income countries. I also improved my leadership and management skills since I was a project coordinator for the volunteers.

This job involved guiding, socialising and organising excursions and activities for language students. My abilities in leadership, organising and management increased, and my ability to work well under pressure and multitask improved.

I assisted children in playing different rhythmic instruments to foster co-operation, self-esteem and sociability. Many children had special needs and needed specific attention. I improvised, engaged in the children’s individual development and developed new music and teaching skills.
