Responsible for the cross-sectorial health policies of Copenhagen (‘Long Live Copenhagen 2011-2014’ and ‘Enjoy life, Copenhageners 2015-2025’) as well as the future organization of the Copenhagen health care centers.

Focus on health as a mean and not a goal, public/private partnership, health technologies, policies and strategies, citizen involvement and health in all policies.

Development of action plans against diabetes as part of the partnership ‘Cities Changing Diabetes’ between Copenhagen and Novo Nordisk. International coordinator for the WHO European Healthy Cities Network.

National Board of Health

National planning of cancer- and heart treatment schemes/pathways, monitoring waiting time for treatment for cancer, project manager for development and publications of national cancer statistics.

International conference planning, health technology assessment e.g. diabetes, development of indicators to evaluate health agreements and the national Cancer plan II, adviser for the National Danish Survey of Patient Experiences.

University of Copenhagen

Project manager for a Danish multi institutional research network, assessing the impact of the structural reform from 2007. Focus on administrative and managerial changes, impact on the health economy, influence on coordination of care, and the redistribution of activities regarding health promotion, preventive services, and rehabilitation.

Part of an international research group comparing and assessing the Danish health care system with the californian HMO Kaiser Permanente with primary focus on general practitioners and diabetic units.

Consultant work for Health Services Research Unit, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, regarding capacity planning in the Danish health care system.

One of two lead authors to the Health Systems in Transition series developed for the WHO and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Extensive teaching experience from the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen primarly on organisation & management and international health.
