The project
The PhD project focuses on the mechanisms involved in specific ubiquitin and proteasome dependent degradation of structural destabilized missense protein variants linked to human genetic disorders. The project will involve a broad range of molecular biological techniques, including various high throughput screening technologies with human cell lines and yeast, FACS, and NGS.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking highly motivated and strong applicants with a Masters’ degree in biochemistry, molecular biomedicine, molecular biology or similar fields. In addition, prior research experience with one or more of the following techniques/areas is needed:

  • High throughput screening
  • Deep mutational scanning
  • Yeast genetics
  • Cell and molecular biology
  • The ubiquitin-proteasome system

We are looking for the following qualifications

  • Professional qualifications relevant to the PhD projects

For information of eligibility of completed programmes, see General assessments for specific countries and Assessment database.

Terms of employment in the regular programme
Employment as PhD fellow is full time and for maximum 3 years.

Employment is conditional upon your successful enrolment as a PhD student at the PhD School at the Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen. This requires submission and acceptance of an application for the specific project formulated by the applicant.
